With the demand for ‘email on the move’ becoming greater and greater and greater, which package is the best one for your business? At Mobile Business Solutions we offer a full range of Mobile Email solutions to suit all sizes of business however if you are running Microsoft Exchange as your email server, there is much more choice.

NEW SERVICE!! – HOSTED EXCHANGE
For many small businesses, getting anything more than ‘email only’ i.e. BlackBerry BIS (Internet solution) has proven to be quite a costly exercise and there are several reasons for this – one of them, and probably the key reason, is that you need to be running Microsoft Exchange as your email server. This is quite an expensive product to justify for a small business…until now!

Mobile Business Solutions in conjunction with one of our business partners we are offering a ‘hosted’ Microsoft Exchange service which allows you the full functionality of Microsoft Exchange but at a fraction of the cost of buying it, installing it and maintaining it.

What benefit do you get from this service? There are a number of benefits such as on your PC/Laptop you would be able to use features such as ‘Out of Office assistant’, or you can gain access to your account remotely from anywhere in the world using the webmail service. One of the biggest advantages is that it opens up a whole new range of products as far as ‘Mobile Email’ is concerned – you will then be able to take advantage of such products as Microsoft Push and Nokia Mail for Exchange (see below), meaning that you can now have an extension of your office PC on your mobile; you would be able synchronise emails, calendar, tasks and contacts wirelessly and easily. The real benefit of this service though is the cost – less than 25p per day, per user.

BlackBerry Business Enterprise Solution (BES)
This service is designed for larger businesses that are using Microsoft Exchange as their email server and requires an additional server to host the BlackBerry software, which sits between the Exchange server and their firewall. This service will give you the ability to receive email in real time and full synchronicity of email, calendar, tasks and contacts between the device and the desktop. Whilst the software and the devices have come down in price and can be given free in some cases, the cost of the additional hardware is often what puts smaller companies off.

BlackBerry Professional Solution – NEW!!
BlackBerry Professional Solution is ideal for small businesses who are running Microsoft Exchange but don’t necessarily want the aggravation of adding a further server to their network. This service allows you to get the full functionality of the BES solution but is a) simpler to set up i.e. no installation, b) can be used on your existing servers. Ideal for 1 to 30 users.

BlackBerry BIS Solution (for non-Microsoft Exchange users)
If you are not currently using Microsoft Exchange, which is the case with a lot of small businesses, then this may be the option for you – it will allow you to get ‘email on the move’ which is simply forwarded from your POP3 server – it is easy to set up and will provide you with mobile email access for almost any amount of email accounts.

Microsoft Push email
If you prefer Windows based devices as opposed to BlackBerry’s, then this is for you – by using your existing Microsoft Exchange you can literally make your Windows powered device an extension of your desktop PC or laptop. There are no set up costs and it will give you the full functionality of BlackBerry i.e. synchronising calendar, email, contacts and tasks using GPRS. The other benefit of this system is that there is no limit to the amount of users and to get the system operational you may only need your IT specialist to adjust some settings to get it up and running.

Nokia Mail for Exchange – Nokia now offers a number of options to compete with the BlackBerry/Microsoft Push products, one of which is a FREE software programme to work in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange which allows similar functionality to BlackBerry on their Symbian S60 platform (N95 for example). It is ideal for the small business who prefer Nokia devices and only relies on a simple software download to your phone.

3G Data cards – We offer a full range of 3G cards and packages to enable you, the user, greater flexibility whilst on the move – simply ‘Plug ‘n’ go’ to get fast, cost effective Internet access with the minimum of fuss. Data cards are available from all 4 networks and are currently available in PCMCIA or USB format.
